RAD Sticker

WHAT THE RADSTICKER WILL DO
In an exposure situation where exposure from high energy ionizing radiation from radiography sources, radiotherapy sources, radiothermal generators, leaks at nuclear containment facilities, nuclear detonations and nuclear reactor accidents a RADSTICKER will do the following:

  • It will provide an early warning to leave the affected area. If the color changes take action.
  • It will give peace‐of‐mind that you are not exposed and if you are exposed, it will monitor harmful high dose radiation, therefore it will minimize your fear, panic, havoc or turmoil. You will survive if you are prepared and take action.
  • It will help people in taking preventive measures like Potassium Iodide Tablets tablets. (info below)
  • It will cause affected people to become more vigilant of their increased risk of cancer.
  • It will provide proof  of contamination in the even of treatment or compensation due to exposure.

WHAT THE RADSTICKER WILL NOT DO
A RADSTICKER will not do the following:

  • It will not monitor doses below the lowest dose indicated on the sticker
  • It will not detect dirty bombs before they go off.
  • It will not detect possible radiation sources or  possible radioactive materials.
  • It will not deter a terrorist attack.
  • It will not monitor the dose of pre‐radiated material or people.
  • It will not directly prevent radiation induced cancer. It will not directly protect people from radiation and is not a radiation shield

The RADStickerTM is a peel-&-stick, postage stamp sized, instant color developing dosimeter. The RADSticker is always ready and can be with you 24/7 in the event of a radiation emergency since it needs no batteries. It requires no power source and has no electronics to plug in or moving parts. It is very reliable, and useful for measuring radiation exposure and  if medical treatment is necessary. You can stick the RADSticker on any item that you carry with you, such as a cellphone or credit card.  This allows you to know your exposure immediately and independently. Having a RADSticker will give you peace of mind and minimize your worry if you have been exposed to harmful high dose (25 rads).

When you carry a RADSticker, you maximize the possibility of treatment, as in the event of exposure having a dosimeter is the best way to show officials you have been dosed.. RADSticker, is a member of the SIRAD® (Self-indicating Instant  Radiation  Alert Dosimeter) family of dosimeters, is made under USP # 7,227,158; 7,476,874 and others.

The SIRAD/RADSticker technology was developed with multimillion dollar funding from many US agencies, including but not limited to DHS, DOJ, DOS, DOD, DHHS and TSWG and was vigorously  tested by the DHS with the first responders. It has  also been the recipient of the 2004 Frost & Sullivan “Excellence in Technology” Award and the 2005 “R&D 100″ Award as one of the 100 Most Technologically Significant New Products of the Year and still today is very much in demand. RADSticker has received widespread press coverage in the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, ABC News, BBC World News and as seen on TV commercials. CNN reporters have used the product live on air during the coverage of the Fukishima disaster.

Why you need the RADSticker?
Everyone around the world is concerned about major radiation incidents, such as terrorist attacks, dirty bombs, small nuclear device, accidents at a nuclear power plant  like we have seen in Japan (e.g., Chernobyl, Ukraine, Japan) and  the mishandling of a radiation source (e.g., Goiania, Brazil).  Incidents like these do have and will continue to major impact in our lives as radiation is bio-accumulative . Not only will there be wide spread panic and worry about individual exposure to radiation but without preparation more lives will be lost than necessary. Accidents  do happen and the resulting panic that can cause more injuries and deaths than exposure to radiation. Having a RADSticker prevents panic as you will know what you are dealing with much soone than those with out one.

The problem with radiation is, it is invisible!  It cannot be seen, smelled, or touched yet  it does cause cancer, injuries and death.

Thus, people want to know their radiation exposure immediately,  ”Did I or didn’t I receive harmful exposure to ionizing radiation? Will I get cancer or not? How much was I exposed to?  What do I do next?”.  All first responders such as military, police, firefighters, medical personnel, have a great need for such devices so they can quickly assess radiation exposure among the affected,  and ensure that immediate treatment is provided to those who need it the most.

RADSticker answers important questions instantly and cheaply.  Having a RADSticker is the least expensive way to minimize panic and worry for the general public and for yourself.  The RADSticker is the perfect tool first responders in the event of a major radiological incident.

When using the rad stickers you also need POTASSIUM IODIDE TABLETS AND HERE IS WHY!

  • Radioactive Iodine (Radioiodine) is a major radioisotope constituent of both nuclear power plant accidents and nuclear bomb explosions. Radioiodine can travel hundreds of miles in through the air.  Most thyroid cancer attributable to Chernobyl “…has been documented up to 500 km from the accident site.” The maximum measured radioactive contamination of milk in the United States by radioiodine from the Chernobyl disaster was in milk produced by cows grazing on pasture in Washington: 560 picocuries per liter. Acceptable levels are normally 2-3 picocuries per liter, elevated levels from Japan have already been detected in the US.
  • Very small amounts of  Radioiodine inhaled or ingested can do major damage as it will concentrate, and be retained, in the thyroid gland.  A large radiation dose to thyroid cells will result in abnormalities , such as loss of thyroid function, nodules in the thyroid, or thyroid cancer. (Every year 12,000 plus Americans discover they have thyroid cancer and about 1000 die from it.)
  • Chernobyl has shown us, and continues to reveal, that the greatest danger from radioiodine is to the glands of children. Research has shown that in certain parts of Belarus, for example, 36.4 per cent of children, can expect to develop thyroid cancer.
  • Health experts now show that the greatest health concerns affecting the largest number of people from a nuclear accident, or nuclear bomb explosion, will likely be from the release of radioiodine that is then carried downwind for hundreds of miles. There will also be many other dangerous radioisotopes released along with radioiodine. When they are inhaled or ingested they are normally dispersed throughout a body and pose less of a risk than if they were to be concentrated into one small specific area of the body, like radioiodine is in the thyroid gland. Therefore, as the cloud or plume of radioactive isotopes disperses with the wind its danger also diminshes, but much less quickly because it will always then be concentrated into that small space of the thyroid gland.
  • From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium_iodide we see reported that:

The Chernobyl disaster also demonstrated that the need to protect the thyroid from radiation was greater than expected.  Ten years of the accident, it became clear that thyroid damage caused by released radioactive iodine was the main adverse health effect that could be measured. World Health Origination researchers  located and counted the cancer victims from Chernobyl. Consequently, many more people than expected were affected by the radiation, this caused the United Nations to report in 2002 that

“The number of people with thyroid cancer…has exceeded expectations. Over 11,000 cases have already been reported.”

  • GOOD NEWS is that taking Potassium Iodide (KI) before exposure will saturate  and fill up a persons thyroid gland with safe stable iodine.  Since there is no room for radioactive iodine it is quickly eliminated via the kidneys.
  • From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potassium_iodide we see reported about Potassium Iodide use during Chernobyl event that:

Poland, 300 miles from Chernobyl, also gave out KI to protect its population. Approximately 18 million doses were distributed, with follow-up studies showing no known thyroid cancer among KI recipients. But time has shown that people living in irradiated areas where KI was not available have developed thyroid cancer at epidemic levels, which is why the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported

“The data clearly demonstrate the risks of thyroid radiation…KI can be used [to] provide safe and effective protection against thyroid cancer caused by irradiation.”

  • BAD NEWS is that after Chernobyl and Japan all available KI supplies disappeared for months, almost overnight! The Potassium Iodide market is very scarce and current limited inventory. We have just restocked from Japan with limited supplies. In the event of a major incident we expect www.411rad.com to be largely ‘SOLD OUT’ within days of any nuclear emergency simply because we’ll be completely out of inventory with no illusions of getting re-supplied again any time soon. Therefore you need to keep adequate supplies in your home before it is needed.
  • More BAD NEWS -Potassium Iodide (KI)  has been stockpiled by most developed countries for future nuclear emergencies. They figured out after Chernobyl it was necessary, but here in the USA they’ve only just begun. Our supplier sold 300,000 doses to HHS Office of Emergency Prepardness after 9/11, which represented only half of our nations stockpile then. You must know, very limited quantities will be available for individual purchase in the USA by the public after an ‘event’. Luckily, Potassium Iodide (KI) has long been recognized and approved by the FDA for sale for this purpose without a prescription.  It is an over-the-counter (OTC) drug  but it isn’t found on many counters here in the USA!
  • KI is currently available at 411rad.com

It is also important to make sure you buy your your Potassium Iodide Tablets from 411rad.com as many outlets on the internet are selling counterfeit products.  You want to be sure that you are getting 100% real products and when you take these product they work. You can be sure if you purchase your products here  at 411RAD.com you are getting the real deal!  Our suppliers are the same that supply the government.
